FEMALE POST...

Here is my fair warning about this post... it is probably more for the female mind... probably TMI for any men:):)

The Go Team part 1 for International Voice of the Orphan in on the ground in Uganda and literally hit the ground running.  I love reading their updates via Facebook... and CAN  NOT believe we will be joining them for part 2 of the trip in 5days:)  Wow!

Here is a little tidbit of how God is working behind the scenes:)  Most of you may have known or have maybe guessed that I kept nursing Levi in the hopes that we would get chosen by a birthmom who was giving birth to an infant.  We had said that we were open to kids older than that...but that was sort of my secret dream:)  I was hoping, but knew that it was totally up in the air whether or not that would happen...

When Isaiah was born we asked permission from the Birthmom to nurse him... and she was Thrilled!!!  She was so happy that he would get the benefits that come from nursing... the bonding and the obvious health benefits... We were so happy that she was happy about it...

Fast forward...  Here I am getting ready to head out for Uganda in less than a week.  Earlier today I sent a note via facebook to Emma, one of the leaders of our trip (more on her later:) 

I mentioned that I would be pumping while I was there and that I could certainly  pump and dump,  but if they could use the milk at the baby home we will be working at, I could save it for them.  She sent me back a message tonight saying, She was about to cry... that this milk could be such a blessing to one very little fragile one at the baby home right now... Her name is Rebecca.  She has a heart condition and is just 3 mos. old... Here is Emma's post about Rebecca that she had just posted.    http://emonamission.blogspot.com/2013/01/rebecca.html

Please join me in prayer that Rebecca will stay healthy enough and live long enough to be able to see doctors.  Pray that they can help her.   I was so excited to hear that there may be someone precious little one who can use the milk while I am there...  (obviously this isn't at all about me...but it was just another way that God works, uses us, and answers prayer... and I love  it anytime that happens:)

Follow Emma's blog as she just moved permanently to Uganda to serve there.  She is an amazing 19 year old young woman who has felt the call of the Lord to Uganda for many years... It is finally becoming a reality for her.  We are thrilled for her and are excited to be able to go serve with her next week... We can't wait to watch the Lord's plans unfold for her in the coming years in Uganda!:)

    That is just beautiful. After my first baby we lived near a city with a mother's milk bank, and I would pump extra and store it up and then take it to the milk bank, where it was trully liquid gold for failure to thrive babies here in the states. I love how such a precious resource is not going to go to waste!

    Oh my goodness, I knew we were kindred spirits! I induced lactation and am also nursing our Trey!! What an amazing gift your milk will be! God is such in the details of things I LOVE IT!! Many blessings to you!!!
